
FRETS on Fri 21st April will have BBC Radio Scotland presenter Vic Galloway interviewing James Yorkston on stage about his literary career prior to James acoiustic concert. James has had three books published (“It’s Lovely To Be Here”, “Three Craws”, “The Book of the Gaels”) and will be discussing them with Vic. James will in turn be chatting with Vic about his books (“Songs In The Key of Fife” and “Rip It Up – The Story of Scottish Pop”).
Vic will also chat with Craig McAllister and Stephanie Gibson about their book “The Perfect Reminder” about the Trashcan Sinatras’ album of the same name. After the interview Trashcans’ John Douglas will play an acoustic set.
To open the evening just after doors at 7pm, Vic will interview Douglas MacIntyre about the “Hungry Beat” covering the birth of Scottish independent labels Fast Product and Postcard Records. There will then be a short set of songs from the Hungry Beat period performed by The Kingfishers.
