BBC Radio Scotland presenter Vic Galloway will be interviewing Craig McAllister and Stephanie Gibson about their Trashcan Sinatras’ book, The Perfect Reminder, at FRETS this Friday 21st April at the Strathaven Hotel. This will be followed by an acoustic set by Trashcan Sinatras’ John Douglas.
The Perfect Reminder is a hardback 350+ page study of Trashcan Sinatras’ seminal second LP, ‘I’ve Seen Everything’. Written by Craig McAllister and featuring beautiful portraits from Stephanie GIbson, the book features interviews with the band and the likes of Chas Smash (Go Discs A&R), Pete Paphides, Gideon Coe, Emma Pollock, Roddy Hart, Eddi Reader and many more. It’s a joyous, touching and often very funny study of 5 folks and the music they made nearly 30 years ago.
Trashcan Sinatras’ second LP ‘I’ve Seen Everything’ is generally regarded as their fans favourite, here’s a great review from Pitchfork https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/trashcan-sinatras-ive-seen-everything/
The album was remastered and reissued by Last Night From Glasgow, which gave Trashcan Sinatras their first top 10 album – more details here:
