FRETS has curated a Hungry Beat book launch event at La Belle Angèle, Edinburgh, which takes place this Saturday at 7pm. Bob Last (Fast Product / pop:aural / manager of The Human League, Scritti Politti, ABC) will discuss the Fast Product releases (The Mekons, The Human League, Gang of Four, Scars, Dead Kennedys) and the Fire Engines’ releases on pop:aural).
Tam Dean Burn will give a reading from Hungry Beat, before The Hungry Beat Group close the night with a selection of songs by artists signed to Fast Product/pop:aural and from the Postcard Records period (Orange Juice, Josef K, Aztec Camera, The Bluebells), with members of the aforementioned Postcard groups performing with The Hungry Beat Group.
