PORT SULPHUR release a new single and announce a concert date. K-Fex is taken from the recent album, Speed Of Life, which reached number 1 in the Scottish Charts (number 6 in the UK). The album was released on Creeping Bent / Last Night From Glasgow, and surprised everyone involved when it outsold Neil Young, Eminem and Paulo Nutini on its release in Scotland.
Film director Grant McPhee (Big Gold Dream & Teenage Superstars) has made a film to accompany the Speed Of Life album, which will be shown for the first time when Port Sulphur perform live at the CCA, Glasgow, on Friday 9th Dec. Beyond The Speed Of Life is an abstract collection of films set to the music contained on the Port Sulphur album, and will be shown in the CCA cinema prior to the concert (which will be opened by special guests Black Hill Transmissions).
Tickets are available at www.lastnightfromglasgow.com
FRETS has also curated an event at La Belle Angèle, Edinburgh, on Saturday 19th November in celebration of the Hungry Beat book about the emergence of Scottish independent labels, Fast Product and Postcard Records.
