Darren McGarvey will be performing a music and spoken word set at the Strathaven Hotel on Friday 16th June. Tickets at this link: https://www.wegottickets.com/event/579569
Many of you will be familiar with Darren through his two successful books (Poverty Safari & The Social Distance Between Us) and his television appearances on political /social commentary programs . He will be chatting to BBC Radio Scotland broadcaster and musician David Scott at the Strathaven Hotel about being an author and a performing artist (Darren performs hip hop/rap as Loki). Special guests are Becci Wallace (hip hop) and Raymond MacDonald (jazz).

This will be the second We Could Send Letters event, following the recent performance at the Glasgow book festival, Aye Write, which featured Bob Last (Fast Product), Malcolm Ross (Josef K, Orange Juice, Aztec Camera), Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub), Nicola Meighan (BBC Radio Scotland), Tam Dean Burn (The Scars) and Campbell Owens (Aztec Camera). The ethos behind We Could Send Letters is performance and conversation with musicians/authors, we’re really looking forward to the Darren McGarvey appearance at the Strathaven Hotel on 16th June.
